Want a quick and easy way to appease your toddlers and little ones when they get a bump? Years ago I came across this idea {I have no idea now where I learned about it}, but it has come in so handy with my kiddos.
Simply freeze a condiment packet and you have an instant mini ice pack!
I keep a few in the freezer, just in case we need one. They are flexible, not too cold, and begin to defrost quickly. Normally, by the time it thaws, the kids are off and playing again, mended and happy. Just toss it back in the freezer for the next time.
I’ve been doing this for years and only remember having a leak once. And, it was slushy so we noticed it right away, not all drippy like thawed ketchup would be.
Obviously this is not something you should plan on using for a serious injury.

Great idea!
My daughter & I both have knee problems so need ice packs on hand often. Instead of buying expensive ones,, we use a heavy freezer Ziploc bag filled about half way with water & add in about 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol. It freezes to a thick slushy consistency and costs pennies to make. We just toss it back in the freezer when it thaws & it’s ready for the next time.
I should make some with Food Saver bags, but just havent.. It would work perfectly as well.

Great idea, Kim! I love it. I’ll have to try it for the bigger bumps and bruises.

I was searching for an easy way to make some mini ice packs to go over my eyes for a migraine. These are perfect, and uses things I already have on hand. You have given a woman in pain the first relief I have had all day 🙂
