Over the last few months, I’ve been testing and reviewing Finish® Power & Free™ Dishwasher tabs. I have used Finish® detergent for the last seven years, and am brand loyal because it’s a great product. I am always interested in trying new products, but when one works so well, why change it?
So what’s “new” with Finish® Brand? Their new Power & Free™ formula offers the same great cleaning power you’ve come to expect, but is now made with less harsh chemicals. Since my kids help to clean up after each meal, it makes me feel great to know that they’re not handling such harsh chemicals!
I also love that the detergent is contained in these little tabs which dissolve quickly. My dishes come out sparkling clean.
Less chemicals + easy to use + sparkling clean dishes = what’s not to love?
- Finish® Power & Free™ detergents feature Hydrogen Peroxide Action to power away the toughest food messes
- Detergents (Quantum & Powerball) contain no chlorine bleach and use less fragrances and dyes versus regular Finish® detergents
- Finish® Jet-Dry® Power & Free™ contains less harsh chemicals versus the regular formula
I’m proud to be a #FinishMom and definitely give the Power & Free™ detergents my stamp of approval.

Hi! I love your posts.
I am trying really hard to be better about getting dishes done after each meal. It’s been tough with a husband who has been in treatment and a three year old with high energy. I use the Cascade tabs right now but want to switch to Finish. I have good luck with their rinsing agent, and Cascade leaves residue on my dishes after the dishwasher has been run. I am planning on trying a DIY dishwasher solution to see if that helps.

Paula Brown says
I try to load the dishwasher as I make dinner. I try to leave enough room for all the dinner dishes. If I fill the dishwasher before dinner is ready, I will run the dishwasher and have my son unload it after dinner (one of his chores is to unload the clean dishes and put them away). Once he unloads them, I reload the dishwasher with the dinner dishes, if it is not enough to run another load, I wait to see what the eat for a snack before bedtime, if not I might run a rinse cycle and then wait until morning and run with the breakfast dishes. I usually get 1 or more loads done a day with just the three of us, if we have guests, look out.
MICHELLE D says

I have 6 kids so meal time is usually no easy task. Right now it is even more difficult do to our dishwasher going out flooding my house and causing a lot of damage to my kitchen. So for the last couple of months of not having a dishwasher we have done the, Responsible for your own routine. How that works is I fill the sink with hot soapy water and each member of the family gets to was their own dishes whether is be plate, bowl, fork, knife, or spoon, you wash what you use. The few dishes there are from making dinner are washed by rotation whomever is up next on the chart is the one with the tast. With reconstruction starting in a couple more weeks, I am in hopes of having a nice new dishwasher to do the job and will look forward to using it.
