Do you like to have a to do list that actually helps you make the most of your time while accomplishing tasks? I do! I made this printable editable so you can customize the time YOUR day starts and ends, and enter any information you want into the blue highlighted areas. (Please note that the “blue” does not print, it’s just there to show you where the editable fields are.)
Confession: I rarely get everything on my schedule done and finished exactly in the time-frame in which I planned. But that’s OK!
You have to roll with the punches of life. Even the best planned out day needs to flex when your child needs an extra hug or play time with Mommy, you get a flat tire, or you receive a last minute call from a friend who desperately needs your help. Flexing with the unexpected things of life is much more important that a rigid, perfectly planned out day. And I rarely have a perfectly planned out day!
However, if I know I have a lot of things to do, calls to make and things to buy, this is one of my favorite ways to get a lot done. If I know I want to get three loads of laundry done, I plan the time to do it throughout the day while I’m accomplishing other tasks. I plan in the “normal” amount of time it takes me to put the clothes in the washer, move them to the dryer, fold them, and put them away. I know about how long each of those steps take, so I plan it in while I’m doing other things.
If I know I’m putting dinner in the crockpot and it needs to go in by 11 a.m., I know I’ll need to plan in the prep time, too. I also plan in things like the kids’ ballet and gymnastics lessons and other things I know will take my time. I also don’t plan every block of time. Not planning every single minute allows for the “surprises” of daily life and also lets you have some down time.
On the side, I write in calls I need to make and a short list of things I need to buy. Once I put the most important things on my schedule, I estimate how much time each task will take. I draw a line through the blocks to cross out unavailable time.
Scheduling this way keeps me on target. And although I don’t always accomplish everything on my list, I sure do get a lot more done than if I aimlessly wander through my day feeling the pressure of my endless to do list.
Important:
You will receive a .zip file which includes the Budget Worksheet in PDF format. In addition, the Google font, Didact Gothic, is also included if you wish to install it. Font installation is not necessary, but please be aware that if your computer does not have that font installed, your printable may not appear exactly as pictured in these examples. Your computer will choose a similar font.
I highly recommend using Nitro Reader PDF software with my printables. You can download it for free here.
Please also note that your editable printable will have blue fields (to show you where you can type), but the blue will not appear when the document is printed.

Hi Ginny—is this printable in your shop? I tried clicking on the link to your shop (found in another blog post) and it doesn’t seem to be working.

Hi Jenny. Sorry about that! I had some technical issues with my shop last week. It was in the process of being updated. You can find the Editable To Do list in my Printables Shop HERE.
