Welcome to Organizing Homelife and thanks for visiting! I’m Ginny, the owner and creator of this blog.
I enjoy organizing, planning, DIY projects, decorating, creating printables, graphic design and a touch of web design.
I started Organizing Homelife to inspire you to get organized in the midst of a busy life. By sharing ideas, tips, DIY projects, tutorials, and printables, my goal is to assist you in organizing your life so you can spend your time enjoying those things that are most important to you, like your family!
Meet my family!
I am a homeschooling mom to four fantastic children. They are with me all day, most every day, so my organizing skills are tested daily! I am also married to a pastor, which makes me a “pastor’s wife”. I absolutely love this ministry. I have incredible opportunities to share with hurting women and children on a regular basis.
At this stage of my life as a mom, I have a house full of activity with four kiddos ranging in age from elementary to high school. With a busy husband, homeschooling, sports and other lessons, a home to care for, meals to plan and prepare, and ministries I’m involved in – life can be pretty hectic!
Organization is one of my most favorite things. I believe that the busyness of life can be handled so much more effectively when you are organized. My goal is never perfection, but order. I enjoy setting up systems to make daily life run a little smoother.
Take a look around. I hope you’ll find lots of inspiration. I wrote a month-long series on being grateful for the space you have and organizing your kitchen frugally (and strategically), have a page FULL of free printables, love to share tips & ideas to make life easier, and have lots of calendars, charts, and schedules in my printables shop.
Check it out and enjoy the site.
I love hearing from my readers! Feel free to send me an email at ginny {at} organizinghomelife.com or leave me a comment below. I read every single one!
Organizing is a process, not a destination.

Ginny, I am so glad to have found your blog! I hope to learn from your organization posts. Where is your ministry? I am also a Pastor’s wife…wonder what else we have in common? My husband is now a Chaplain in the Army so add moving every 2 years to the mix and it’s crazy! (see why I need the help in the organization department?) Well, just wanted to introduce myself.
Blessings,
Amie

Thanks for stopping by, Amie. I’ll send you an e-mail. 🙂

Hi Ginny! I recently stumbled onto your blog and am so glad that I did. I also have four kiddos ranging from 6yrs-1yr. I really love this post and your take on organizing. It definitely is a process and family and Christ are so much more important than a “perfect” house. 🙂 I’ll be looking forward to reading your posts!
Ginny says
Thanks, Faith, you are so sweet! I checked out your blog, too, and really enjoyed reading some of your posts. I saw that we have a number of things in common. I’m your newest Facebook follower. 🙂 I’ll be back to check out more. You have some pretty awesome looking recipes, too!

Ginny, What a great blog! I am not a blogger. My son sent me your e-mail as leftovers are always a problem in this household. I have been using blue painters tape on the containers in the freezer and that works pretty good but I love your idea for the fridge leftovers. I intend to pick up some crayons tomorrow when I go shopping. I also signed up for your e-mails as organization is so important in our busy lives. It is certainly a privilege to raise children and teach them about a loving Father Who died for them. Like they say the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world! May the Lord bless you and your family as you seek to raise your children for Him.
Ginny says
What a sweet, note, Cindi! I really appreciate you taking the time to write. 🙂 May the Lord bless you as well!

Hi! I just wanted to introduce myself! I am a Rabbi’s wife!! My kids aren’t homeschooled, but I’m looking forward to learning how you stay so organized, and maybe I’ll also have something to share!

Ginny, I am really glad to have come across your website. Like they say in 12-step programs, the first step is finally admitting that “life has become unmanageable and I am willing to do something about it!” Finding your website and the free printables for making a binder of my own felt like a first step towards “increased sanity” tonight. I work part time, am blessed with a busy working husband and am blessed with two awesome kids, age 4 and 7. I look forward to keeping up with your messages and will try making a homemaking binder as a second step. Thank you for sharing your talents in this way, Ginny. I am encouraged already. — Deidre

It is really lovely to read all these posts! I am single yet I still feel the need to have an organised home as time flies by when you spend a lot of hours at work. And being a single aunt means there is always someone available in cases of emergency or chauffeur services lol. Thanks for these useful resources Ginny!
Ginny says
You’re welcome, Giselle! I’m glad you’re finding them to be helpful. 🙂

Hi. Came over from Money Saving Mom. Do you have a zip file for your binder printables? I would love to have them all! Thank you!
Ginny says
I don’t have a zip file at this point, but I do have a big announcement coming soon. 🙂
Jody says
Hello Ginny, yes, I found you on pinterest also, which is something I MUST cut back on in my newest organization and time management skills. Thank you for such wonderful ideas. I do plan on implementing some of them, and although my CDO (that is OCD, but in alphabetical order-Ha!) wants me to do them ALL at once, I must refrain, and do a bit at a time. I too have 4 wonderful homeschooled children, 3 of whom have graduated and the 4th graduating this May, they are 17, 19, 19, and 20, and my husband is a deacon at our church. I want to encourage you in all your endeavors for our Lord and thank you again. He has gifted you greatly.
Always Experiencing Him,
Jody
Ginny says
Haha, Jody! I totally agree on the CDO! 😉 I’m happy to “meet” you, and I’m glad you stopped by. Blessings!

Hi Ginny,
I just found your blog through facebook. I’m a homeschooling pastor’s wife too, only we have 7 kiddos ranging from 10 months to 13 years. I crave organization, but never seem to achieve it. Looking forward to following your blog! 🙂
Ginny says
That’s awesome, Kyle! I’m so glad you found my site. 🙂 You sure do have your hands full! I called my blog OrganizING, not OrganizED, Homelife for a reason…organization is a journey, not a destination. The point is to help your family enjoy more quality time together without the stress of clutter and disorganization. It’s not easy when you have a large family to care for, church responsibilities, AND have your children home 24/7! I’m on the journey right alongside of you! 🙂 By taking things a little at a time, you’ll start to see order develop and things run more smoothly. God Bless!
Sarah says
Hi Ginny! Followed a link from Pinterest for some help with home organization and was so blessed to see that you are a Christian and Pastor’s Wife. Seems like there are a lot of us on here! My husband and I are new in Pastoring (9 months now) We have two little boys, another baby on the way, I have 2 part time jobs and involved heavily with ministry in our church too. Can our lives ever feel balanced and less hectic? So looking forward to keeping up with this blog and learning some practical tips and Godly advice:)
Ginny says
Thanks, Sarah. 🙂 I’m always happy to “meet” other pastors’ wives. You really have your hands full! With (almost) three little ones, 2 jobs, ministry, and a pastor for a hubby, I’m pretty sure you’re going to be feeling like life is hectic for a while! :o) One thing I’m working on is finding the balance between family, work, and ministry. It’s not an easy balance, and it’s different for everyone. Try to let go of what you can, and don’t become over-involved in too many extra responsibilities. It’s so easy to take on too many things, but it’s not good for us or our families – especially when your family is so young. I’m happy to have you following along. Take care!

Hi Ginny! I found your blog through Pinterest…. I was looking for organizing tools. I too am a Pastor’s wife. I have 6 kids, ranging from 25 to 11. I home schooled the older ones. Most of the “big kids” have moved out and are on their own or in college. Our youngest, who is 11, has Down syndrome. He is cognitively about 3 1/2, has severe ADHD, sleep apnea, and is non-verbal. This past spring I finished my master’s degree in ministry. So besides family-life, ministry at our church, I am involved in started a ministry for our church conference, helping the local church minister to and alongside children (and adults) with special needs and their families. Glad I found your blog… I look forward to reading and downloading more tips towards getting more organized…. May God bless you!
Ginny says
W.O.W.!! do you ever have your hands full! God bless you, too! I’m glad you found me and hope you find some helpful tips here. 🙂

I love all your ideas, I’m very interested in your grocery list printable, but I don’t “do” face book anyway to you could email it to me anyway? I’d really appreciate it. I showed my hubby your command center and he told me if I could make my space look like that he wouldn’t mind my shopping for the containers 🙂
