Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 3 cups flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°. Cream shortening and brown sugar thoroughly. Stir in egg, molasses and vinegar beat well. Sift remaining ingredients and stir into mixture. Chill dough at least 3 hours. Lightly flour surface and roll 1/8″ thick. Place 1″ apart on baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes.
