CONGRATULATIONS to winners:
#66 – Lyn
and
#5 – Laura
on winning Let. It. Go. and The Complete Guide to Getting & Staying Organized by Karen Ehman!
A few weeks ago, I attended a blog conference where I was given a number of books and other goodies in a “swag” bag. When I had some down time, I sorted through the books and found a copy of Let. It. Go. How to Stop Running the Show & Start Walking in Faith by Karen Ehman. After perusing it a bit, I put it straight to the top of my “to read soon” list.
Just a few short days after I returned home, I was contacted by Karen and asked if I would do a review of her new book. I started reading the copy I had received and really enjoyed it, so I decided to join her blogger book tour and help promote her awesome new book!
I checked out Karen’s blog and immediately felt a connection with her. She is a woman with a heart for God, who desires to help women learn how to control what they can & trust God with what they can’t. Do you struggle with control—your kids, your hubby, your time and circumstances? Then this book is for you!
LET. IT. GO. How to Stop Running the Show & Start Walking in Faith
By Karen Ehman
Foreword by Candace Cameron Bure
Women are wired to control. We make sure the house is clean, the meals prepared, the children are dressed, and everyone gets to where they’re going on time. But sometimes our strength of being conscientious can morph into the weakness of being a slight—or all out—control freak! This humorous, yet spiritually practical book will help you to:
- Take control of your schedule yet welcome interruptions from God
- Draw the line between mothering and micromanaging
- Influence your husband instead of manipulating him
- Learn to control your emotions when you can’t control the circumstances
- Stop pursuing the appearance of perfection and start pursuing the person of God
NOTE: A 6-week teaching DVD and Bible Study guide is also available for group and individual use.
And I have some super-sweet news for you (oh, I just love sharing great things with you all!! 🙂 )…
Karen is offering 2 readers of Organizing Homelife an opportunity to win not one, but TWO of her books!
Yes, you read that correctly, two of my readers have an opportunity to win both Let. It. Go. AND one of Karen’s other books, The Complete Guide to Getting & Staying Organized!
I know you love organizational tips, help with managing your time, and putting your family first, and that is exactly what The Complete Guide to Getting & Staying Organized is all about!
The Complete Guide to Getting & Staying Organized
The key to good organization is not a one-size-fits-all method. It is a unique plan that considers personality type, lifestyle, income level, and family schedule. Karen believes that with her simple step by step process moms can recognize their own personal style of managing their households successfully and develop a unique plan that gives them the freedom to:
- manage their time wisely
- de-clutter and organize their homes
- plan menus, shop more efficiently, and become more comfortable and creative in the kitchen
- get children involved in pursuing an ordered life and home
- avoid the trap of overcommitment
- use practical tools to assist in organization
Getting and staying organized means more time for the important things in family life — concentrating on cultivating a close, personal relationship with the Creator, drawing His word into every aspect of living, and ultimately tying their children’s heartstrings to God.
BONUS!
And if winning both of these amazing books isn’t enough, you also have an opportunity to…
Win a Kindle Fire!! Karen is giving away TWO Kindle Fires. One to a random reader who comments on one of the blog tour sites (Organizing Homelife is included!) and one to a participant who signs up for the 5-day free resource From Chaos to Calm: The LET. IT. GO. Christmas Challenge.

I am smack dab in the middle of despair, I am trying to hold to what I know is right (time with the Lord, my family, homeschooling my 5 children, plus being a mom to my 3 college age children living at home 🙂 – but feeling overwhelmed and overburdened. I know that a book does not “fix all”, but some ideas would help.

I am a daughter of a control freak and I remember saying I would never be that way with my children. Now I have two girls of my own and I find myself doing the same things I hated as a child. I know I should let them be and realize there are two adults living in the house and I don’t have to do everything.
Amanda says
I am in the midst of a life “makeover” I’m working at gaining control of my health and bad habits (clutter and such) and working to let go of all of the things The Lord wants me to leave with Him. Both of these books sound wonderful and I will definitely begin following her page as well. 🙂
Janet A says
I admit it….I am a control freak who is out of control! I have the additional “perk” of working fulltime 12- hour night shifts on a crazy rotating schedule that barely allows me time to get “back to normal” before going back on shift. I need all the help I can get!

Lindsey says
We’re a military family and will be moving into our new home sometime this coming early spring. We’re in between bases right now, and it’s hard to keep things organized. I’ve also been trying to plan how I want things to be organized when we move since we left most of our stuff in storage till the big move. These books would really help me get things ready and deal with the things we have now. I will have time to read them right away and can go on ahead and get into the organizing mentality 🙂 Thank you for the chance! 🙂
Kim says

I am a retired nurse who left work early due to health issues. I miss my work and now find myself hoarding craft items. I have begun to take back my home and am getting some counseling help with the hoarding issue. I want to return to an organized home and life while finding a way to still help others. Now I need to take time for me. I have downloaded the items from your organizing book and am setting small goals each week for myself. These books would help me to get back some perspective and accomplish my goals.
Thank you for considering me for the give away.
Amber B. says
I’ve been trying to get our house organized this year, but I don’t know where to start!!! That was one of my New Year’s goals this year and that one hasn’t worked out yet. Plus, we are probably going to be moving in the next few years and I would love to be able to go through and get rid of the things we no longer need. The problem with that is I can never find the time to do so.
Lana says

Mary says
I have a daughter that had her first child last year at age 38 after IVF. Her and her husband are working on their marriage. She works full-time and at this point is stressed to the max. I thought this would be great for her and she could read a little each evening before she goes to bed. Then pass it on to Mom and we could share what we received from reading this book. AHHH!
Glennen says
I am determined to get organized and these books seem like a peaceful, smart way to do so.
Thanks!

Hekawi says
I NEED this book! My life is all over the map — I have no organizing skills whatsoever (I think my middle name is “Was that YESTERDAY?”) and sometimes I think that in itself is a control issue. I’d really rather just be an instrument in the Lord’s hands and love everyone around me like they need to be loved. (Is there an online class for that?!)
Julie says
Boy, do I need these books. My life stays in chaos.
Kathy H says
These 2 books sound like just what I need! What a great way to start out the New Year! Love Proverbs 31 on the radio, & now her blog site! Thanks!

Being a mother of 5 and schooling them at home, I had to learn priorities and decide if my house or my children were more important. I would love to give these books to my daughter who is pregnant with twins to help her with the same struggles I faced, especially since she doesn’t listen to my advice very well.
Thanks
Kathy Esway
Alison says
I’m such a control freak, but because of my type A & ADD personality very little actually gets done because I am so busy trying to make sure that what is accomplished is “perfect”. I have two sons (a high school senior and a freshman) and a husband that works a lot and with all of the actives/required things I find that I am a grumpy, frazzled Mom/wife that isn’t accomplishing much and even worse, doesn’t recognize herself anymore. Plain and simple, I need some advice. Thanks!
Susan McNutt says
I would love to have these books as I struggle with organization. I am a homeschooling mother of five. I have a senior this year as well as a new baby both of which require a lot of planning. I also have recently been diagnosed with cancer so I need to make the most of my time. I run a small daycare and have just moved during the holidays. My life is in major need of organization, focus, and directions. I would love to have these books to learn from!

Tracy says
I would love to win these two books. I have been running two households for the last three years and it is time to let my Mothers house go. It has been a long hard journey but it is time to let the house go. I know my Mom would want me to have my life back so I need to clean it out and have some sales and put it up for sale. Her house won’t bring her back so it’s time for someone else to make memories there.

Melissa says
My husband and I are houseparents to 7 teenage girls, our own teenage daughter, and our nearly-4-year-old grandson (whose mother, our 23-year-old daughter, stops by often). Neeedless to say, organization is a big key for me!
Sarah Smith says
What an amazing opportunity to win those books! However, I think I will pass on the winning- as I would rather purchase them and give others opportunity to win these books. But – i would like to say, even in reading the comments that these wonderful women have left before me…what an encouragement it is to see OTHER women pursuing God and striving to “let it go”. And, while shallow and petty – it also encourages me to see that other women don’t have it all together! What a relief! And praise God for being able to be strong in our weakness.
meagan cooper says
I REALLY need this book. I have a 2 1/2 year old, work full time, and just found out yesterday that I am pregnant with our 2nd, and it was unexpected. I am already slightly spazzing out, and would love to learn to just let it go : )
ann says
I would love to have these books! I am not a young Mom but I still have loads to learn!
Kathleen says
God Bless you. I am so disorganized. I spend too much time and wasted energy running around in circles. I do not even know where to start … and every time I begin I only stop and do nothing because I am just to overwhelmed. These books just might give me the jump start that I need. Thanks a bunch for the chance. 🙂
Debbie Spencer says
I would love to benefit from reading these books and then share them with others at church or to a wonderful missionary I know who is in a wheelchair due to Muscular Dystrophy but has so far traveled to 10 other countries speaking about the struggles she’s faced in her life. Not expected to live past age 8 she is now 45 and filling each day with spreading her story and her love for God. I could benefit tremendously in trying to get some organization and structure in my life since I lost my job over three years ago. It’s been really tough financially to afford the basic bills but I know the good lord is there and has helped me to hold on to my home where others haven’t. I am always trying to do everything which stretches my limits sometimes. I am always looking for things that will strenghten my faith and perspective and I believe reading these books would certainly do that. I thank you for your writings and for the opportunity to be be selected for these books and the Kindle Fire. Should I be lucky enough to win these tools for success, they would help many people as I share them with others. God bless you as your words help others.
Tammy says
I would love to read these books. I am sooo not organized, which is why I love your site. I’m also a controller but try not to be. I learned from my mom, lol. I’m trying to learn to Let Go and Let God. I’ll have to put them on my wish list for sure because I can’t afford to buy them. God Bless You.

I would love to win these tools!! I have been diagnosed with a pain condition that has no cure. I think these tools will help me to let go and be able to let my faith take over.
Jen @ Happy Little Homemaker says
I would love the organizing one — I have a new baby coming and being preggo has already thrown my clean/organized home for a loop much to my hubby’s detriment! I got the Let. It. Go at #allume, too. It’s at the top of the stack right now :).
Nichole H says
I would love to win this giveaway especially the Getting and Staying Organized book. I am the mother of an almost one year old daughter. Her entrance into our life was a complete blessing but, at the same time, it made me realize how unorganized I am. Before her birth, it didn’t matter how organized I was. I somehow got “most” things done. Sure, it was often last minute, the house and car was always in a state of confusion and I was a bit stressed, but things got done. Now that we have our daughter I can’t be as stressed and all over the place anymore. It’s no fair to her. And, if we are ever to get into a good spot for me to go from fulltime to at least parttime work, I need to get our home-life organized. This would help a lot! Thanks for the chance to win!
Leah says
Not only do i love to organize and find fast and easy ways to make life a bit less challenging on the home front but I honestly would love a book to motivate me to love my husband better in a way that does not include manipulation. What a treasure a book or books like that would be! I love hearing other people’s success stories so sign me up! I want a book!
LT says
I am so organized! For about 5 minutes! LOL. I need to learn not only organization short cuts, tips n tricks; I want to learn how to maintain an organized home and lifestyle!
Laurie says
I would ♥ to read these two books! Those are two areas that I struggle with- organization and balancing out my “controlling” tendencies . The daily distractions of 4 boys, 2 dogs and a husband that travels all week leaves me overwhelmed too often. What a blessing this giveaway will be to two of your readers- thanks for all your awesome tips, Ginny!
Wendi S says
I never thought I was a control freak…but the older I get the more I realize that I am! I’d love to win the “Let It Go” book so I can learn to let it go 🙂
Lisa Reavis says
OH MY!! You have NO idea what amazing time our God has!! This struggle in my life had just recently received a name…so the books will be such an amazing complement to the other steps I have recently taken to get my life (and that of my treasured family) back into their proper balance!! I have already ordered the books and if I would be one of the lucky winners…I cannot wait to share them with a friend so they can experience the same release!!
Gina says
I always feel the need to control everything, which in turn adds to my stress! I would LOVE to read these books and learn how to let go of the things I cannot control, but feel the need to! And getting organized would be a bonus!

Cairn says
These books sound great. Just what I need about now.

A fellow teacher and I were JUST talking about this “control” issue this morning! The balance is so hard…we would love to do a book study on these!
Sallie says
My husband and I recently got off the road after 8 years of travel. We signed a lease with the apartment complex that could get us a place ASAP…and now it’s really evident that it’s way too small for us and all of our stuff! This book would help me stay organized and maximize the space I do have 🙂
Marisa says
Ginny, I can see many others have such good reasons why they should win, and I don’t feel as deserving. I am a housewife, and I have three children 5 and under. I am beginning to see how much I want to control our home life, but I am in need of some good insight in how I can let go. I am about to embark in the journey of homeschooling after pulling my son out of secular school, so some additional organization in my life/home would be oh-so-helpful! Thank you for the chance to win!
Blessings,
Marisa
Denyse says
How timely. We were just discussing in bible study this morning how Abigail gave David information, but didn’t tell him what to do with it! I am a homeschooling Mother of 4 with a very patient husband who calmly bypasses my micromanaging without comments : )

This would help me with my new year’s resolution to get organized.
Charlotte Kuykendall says
Both of these books look like exactly what I have been searching for. I’m a single mom of a 4 year old with a full-time job and no family nearby. I’ve been trying to figure out ways to organize and simplify to help me not be so stressed all the time. Would love to win these!!! 🙂
Anne says
I’m 54 and still trying to get control or should I say let go of control to the clutter and disorganization in my life.
Valerie Cox says
Hi! I would love to read these books. I’m always trying to organize my life and I’ve recently been struggling a lot lately due to the discovery of abuse from my childhood. I now know why I’ve been so driven in my life, receiving 2 degrees. I’m a mom now, and want to be there for my son. Present. Actively parenting. I’ve got a 2-week Christmas break coming up and my plan is to get organized and spend some quality time with my little boy. Thank you for this amazing offer!

Jaclyn says
I just recently had my second child and decided to stay home and take a break from my career. When I was working we weren’t home as much and things were together most of the time. Now that we are all home I find it more difficult to maintain organization and motivation tostay on top of things. I would love some direction and inspiration.
Jean says
I could really use information on getting organized. After living within 20 miles or less to our families since we were married 35 + yrs ago, we are moving over 700 miles away due to my husband getting a new position with his employer of 36+ yrs. Between sorting through all the stuff we have accumulated all these yrs, moving out of state and setting up a new home, I would love to start being organized for once. Right now my husband calls it ‘organized kaos’. After almost losing our oldest son several yrs ago I have tried to not ‘sweat the little stuff’, but it is hard at times. God has blessed us so much and because He is in control we feel that this move is for a reason. Thank you so much for all the information you have so graciously shared with others to help improve our daily lives.
Denise says
This opportunity could not have come at a better time for me. I have not been able to attend church for a variety of reasons but one being that my niece took her own life on Oct. 21 and left my nephew and 3 small boys. I have been devoting as much time as I could to helping them get the house and laundry clean and organized. It is important as 2 of the boys are type 1 diabetics so being clean and organized is needed. Thank you so much for the opportunity to win these books and the kindle.
Monica says
I am a mom who is continually trying to find balance and I get easily bored with house chores. Being organized isn’t a strong characteristic of the personality God gave me. I want to find a new system of thinking that will remind me of why I serve my family and also a plan of action for organizing. I also need more faith in God’s good will toward my husband and kids, I can teach them truths, but it’s their choice to seek Him or not to seek Him in their everyday life.
Thanks for this opportunity to win some great God loving resources for growth!
Shawna says
Handing over control to God and staying organized are the two areas I struggle with on a daily basis. I’ve been focusing on both of these do awhile and haven’t made as much progress as I’d like. These two books may be the solution I’ve been praying for! Thank you for offering these books at a time when they’re greatly needed!!!
Danielle says
I’m extremely disorganized, struggling with clutter. I need help! Plus, my birthday is this week, would be a great gift! 🙂
Crystal says
I definitely need to read both of these books – winning them would be wonderful!
Holly says
I would love to read these! I’m a stay at home mom of two little boys. My husband works out of town and I usually gone for weeks at a time. As hard as I try, I can never seem to get things in order. I need help. I don’t know where to start. Everything is always a crazy mess & I feel so overwhelmed. I want to be a Godly example for my family but sometimes I need help & encouragement too! 🙂
Rebekah Salter says
I not only WANT these books, but I think it’s fair to say I NEED these books. Mom of four, with a variety of health issues… I’m a total control freak. 🙁
Katie says
I could use both of these! I struggle with staying organized, but also I try to control everything in my life.
Tina says
Wow! I think these books were written for me! I know I need to learn how to control my emotions when I cannot control the circumstances. It is my new goal and one I struggle with the most, it seems! Would also love some tips on avoiding the trap of over commitment!! And who doesn’t find value in organizational tips?! Thank you for the opportunity to win such great gifts of knowledge!
Catie says
God’s timing is perfect. I believe that these books would be helpful for the changes in our lives right now, my health issues & subsequent financial issues. We have 5 kids (3 in college, and 2 that we share with another household). I would so appreciate having these books & to have a way to put all of this into a God-centered situation, rather than trying to control or orchestrate what I don’t have the power to control. 🙂
Maureen says
If the Lord wills, I would like to have these books. God had been dealing with me for some time in getting my house in order and being more disciplined with my time. I am thankful that He is merciful and continues to provide me with encouragement and tools(your 31 days of organizing). I am slowly implementing things and still need to do more.
Sharon says
Sounds like just the thing to begin the new year with!
Menay says
what great timing! I am engaged and will be married soon, and I unfortunately struggle with learning what I can and cannot control. It is so hard sometimes to let God do the work. I would love to read this book as I feel it would be a wonderful start to our marriage.
Kathy says
These books look awesome! I love the idea of influence instead of manipulation and mothering instead of micromanaging. And who doesn’t want help organizing?? I definitely want to look into these. Thanks so much!
Michele says
I would love to read these books. I need to get organized. But more than that I need to learn to let the stuff go and let God take control and first place in my life. Seems there is just too much stuff in my life, literally and figuratively.
jessie hansen says
Definitely somethig to start a new year with. I don’t know about the Let. It. Go. book, I’m pretty laid pack, but there are a lot of things I really should just LET GO. Hey, have you ever heard that song by Cowboy Mouth, Jenny Says? “When the whole world’s coming down on me I LET IT GO!” Awesome. Anyway, the other book sounds like it is more up my alley, a little more organization could go a long way in my house.
Rachel H says
I would LOVE to win these books. In fact, I NEED these books! I am a mom with three kids that are each involved in sports and other activities, I have a job outside the home and can’t seem to say “no” to any good cause or committment. So many times I find myself overcommitted, unorganized and stressed out to the point of letting it steal my joy and that of my family. Something’s gotta change and these books sound like they have the tools to help me make that change!
Felicia says
I would love to win a copy of Let. It. Go. I am struggling with this issue in my life right now and any help would be appreciated.
jan says
The books sound great. I am over 60 and still do not feel like I “have it together” with my life. I want to be a stronger Christian woman and I’m feeling overwhelmed with all I need to do. Thank you.
Amber says
I would love to read these books!! I have a lot of trouble letting go and not having all control!
Cindy Bauer says
simply this…I am this person and i need this book!
Holli Applegate says
I am the mother of a blended family with 7 kids. I work full time, help at church, and also have a direct sales company. I am a control freak, no doubt about that and it seems like the older I get, the worse it gets. My full time profession is a Controller for a multi million dollar ventilation company. It’s so fitting that I take that home and control everything!! I laughed when I read this post because it describes me to a tee! I do micromanage the kids and fiancé. I HAVE to be in control. If I’m not, it won’t get done….or at least done MY way. I want to be able to relax, let go, and have fun with my family instead of always being uptight and on edge.
Thanks
Holli 🙂

Donna says
I would love to win these books. I have a full time career and most of the time I feel very over whelmed with trying to stay organized at home. Most of the time I feel like it is a losing battle trying to keep up on everything. Would love to learn how to get my husband to help out without it turning into a battle. Learning to let go would be a great way to cope with things that happen at work that are out of my control!
Lindsey says
Wow! Great timing for these books for us! We are in the midst of big life changes: New baby, moving to a new state, new job for my hubby, etc. I love the idea of pursuing God and managing a bumpy road rather than striving to control to get perfection. Thanks for the recommendation if nothing else!

These books have made it to must read over the Christmas vacation!!!
Sara--Mac Kid Chicago says
The control freak in me needs help toning it down!
Tammy says
I am a newbie to your website and have loved creating my binder. I am chipping away at it with your great downloads. Right now I am concentrating more on organizing for Christmas. I have always struggled with control and have made HUGE gains. Lately I find myself sinking back into that black hole of controling everything. It hasn’t been going well! LOL! Everywhere I turn I feel like I am sinking. I know I need to get control of my home and my classroom. I need organization and I need to give it to God. I am spending a lot of time helping others, but I feel I am drowning and need a life vest. I am spending time in prayer and hear God’s voice and feel His leading. These recommendations are wonderful. I hope to be the lucky winner. Thank you for your great advice and downloads. Blessings to you!
Tammy 🙂
Karen says
I would love to recieve these books. I believe these would totally help me organize my life at home and with GOD!
Ashley says
Thank you for doing this giveaway! I would love to read both of Karen’s books because I need to learn to let go of feeling like I am more in control of my life than God and I definitely need to learn how to stay organized! I like organizing but things inevitably get messed up and need to be organized again.
Kara Hamilton says
I am always looking for ways to stay organized. Like so many other women, I work 10-12 hours a day as a healthcare provider, and by the time I get home in the evenings I am mentally and physically exhausted. I need ways to maximize the little time I do have at home. I have always believed in having a clean, orgazined home so my family always is confident it is okay to bring friends over. I like having my children and their friends around…I know where they are and what they are doing. These tools could help me sooo much!
Deb says
I would loveeee to win these books (or the kindle for that matter 🙂 ) for one simple reason- they speak to the heart of what is ailing me in my life right now. Two years ago, I became very ill and have spent these past two years struggling with basically functioning from day to day let alone all that is a part of real life. My husband had to take over and act in every role in our family and try to keep it together. In August, we finally got a diagnosis and I am currently under treatment for a rare disease- there is no cure… but these treatments are a Godsend! I am step by step regaining my life. In these past two years, a house that was already chaotic really turned upside down. My husband and I as well as our two boys (ages 5 and 7) were all diagnosed with ADHD and I have damage we are still trying to figure out as neurotoxins were running around my brain for far too long. I struggle with organization, yet- it is the one essential for all of us to regain peace in our household. I also am struggling on how to “Let it go” as I just recently had to come to terms with the fact that I can no longer work as a special education teacher- one of my huge passions in life. I need to learn to let go of perfectionism, let go of control and let go of STUFF. Thank you for considering this entry and thanks for the great resources and inspiration you give all of us daily!
Zee says
I so need to learn how to just let things go and relinquish control. I’m slowly learning to let go of the reins – God surely doesn’t need my help!
michelle zeatlow says
I probably don’t need the books. Since i have a problem with paper hoarding and co-dependentcy. So i need to pray more to my lord and savior that he can give me the strength to let things go. But Good luck to the other readers.

I am a new SAHM to three little girly munchkins and wife to a traveling husband and am in the midst of reorganizing our lives and trying to learn to let go and let GOD. I am looking for any resource to help in the quest of balancing all that we have going on! Thanks for your blog and tips!
Nancy says
I finished college as a means to a “second chance” career in January and have finally reached my childhood dream of being a teacher. At nearly 50 years old, I am enjoying my profession teaching special education students a 7th grade ELA curriculum. I have a 14-year-old daughter at home and am juggling motherhood as a widow, an active teenager’s life, school work, meetings, and running a household. I need ALL the help I can get and these books would be a wonderful learning opportunity for me when I need it most.
Carolyn says
As a full-time employee, I would love to have more time to be efficiently organized. I thought after my daughters finished college that I would be able to accomplish my goal. I try to toss & organize a little each day, but get distracted easily. I am hoping that maybe these books might help me.
D says
would love to read the books.
Sunshine says
Thank you for being so generous! I would love to read both of these books because I am starting to see that the more things come undone, the more I want to control them. I need to re-learn what it means to rest in Him, His timing, His strength and let my family be who they are meant to be in Him. And, I so desire for a organized home that feels welcoming to all who enter.
Jodi Emery says
Can’t wait to Let.It.Go!
Rochelle says
Oh I would love to win these…..I need to win these…..thank you for the opportunity!
Amanda says
I think I should read both books lol… Deffently the let it go. I am a mother of three and a wife I run a in home sewing business. I am returning to work tomorrow after a few months of. I used to be so organized everything had a place kinda person (major OCD) I was such a micro manager that it drove my oldest son clean away from me. He withdrew and is now living with his dad since that happened I simple stopped out of fear of driving my other two sons away. My husband and I struggle but we manage. I have come to the point that it gives me severe anxiety to try to organizing. I love love love your ideas here on this blog and I have implemented some but I am really struggling. I would to read the books and will prob buy them if finance allow me after the first of the yr, however it would do my family and I a huge advantage if I was chose to win on. Either way I know God know what I need and what will help me so I am leaving my slow progress to organizing in his control to keep my children and husband from the wrath of me the major micromanager and my battle with OCD….
Jen Perrotta says
As a self proclaimed pack rat, and living in a less than 1000 sq ft home with my husband, two kids, and a dog, I can’t think of 2 books that I need more! Overflowing closets, and a storage unit to boot…I need help. I NEED to “let it go”!

I thought I was organized until I went back to school 4 years ago and since then I have struggled with keeping up with it all. These books sound like ones I would love to read. I start out great some days, but then end up not sticking with it some times. Now as I am close to graduation from school, I have to look for a part time job and know that when that happens the organizing part of my life will be even more important. I need help keep all the things in my life organized; my school, work, girls home school and their schedule and volunteering with Operation Christmas Child year round. But whoever gets these wonderful gifts will be blessed to have them. Thanks Ginny for all your wonderful help and advise.

Control is one area in my life. That I struggle with. I know that I should let go and let God, but sometimes that is easier said than done. I want to improve myself so I can be a better mother and wife. I also want to start enjoying life, not just surviving it. These books would be a great start toward this.

I love organizing and once everything has a home, it usually stays there. My problems are getting rid of stuff that I might someday need to re-buy, and doing my “dailies”. I’d like to check out Let. It. Go. and then send it around my circle of friends.

I am a wife, homeschooling mother of 4, who’s husband runs a business and does college ministry at our church. Untill my grandmother passed this last summer I had taken care of her for the last three years. Since her passing we have spent the last several months trying to reorganize and create some order and routine in our home. It is not easy with us going in so many directions. Thank you for considering us for you wonderful giveaway. Blessings to you both.
Winona says
This part of the description says it far better than I can — “Getting and staying organized means more time for the important things in family life — concentrating on cultivating a close, personal relationship with the Creator, drawing His word into every aspect of living, and ultimately tying their children’s heartstrings to God.” and is exactly why I would like to win the book.
diki b. says
I would love to win these books! I do have control issues, but mainly they concern my time. I want control of my time, for example i know how i want my day to go and if someone comes along and throws a monkey wrench in it that just totally frazzles me out. I get upset, rant and rave (if i’m alone), i’m sure my blood pressure goes up, i get mean and very cranky. I also need a lot of help with organization. I try to organize but then when i want something i may not find it for 3 years! When i do finally find it i’m like what ever made me put it in this spot! I also have major problems with ADHD and i know that doesn’t help, so both of these books would be a godsend for me. Also i’ve wanted a Kindle Fire forever so that would be awesome! Thanks for the chance to win.
Diana says
This book is just what I have been praying for. Soooo need to learn how to let go and let God!
Lisa J says
Because I need help.
Jana says
These books sound like exactly what I need in my life right now. When I am not organized and life is hectic, I feel a lot of stress which makes me not as good a mother and wife as I would like to be. Walking in faith is another personal struggle I have been dealing with for a while. My husband is not a person of faith and I struggle to raise my children knowing God and I have been struggling with my own personal relationship with God as well. These sound like great books!
Vanessa says
I have no problem getting organized, it’s STAYING organized that is the problem. 🙂 Would love to read her tips!

We are a homeschooling family of seven in a small 3/2 home that was built in the early 60s. We have lived here for 9.5 years and I still struggle to find an organization system that works. Maybe Karen’s book could give me the help I need.
And doesn’t every homeschooling mom struggle with control issues?? Thank you!!
Jean Daniel says
You ladies are my kind of women! I have been “accused” of being an organizer but I need some “organization to my organizing.” I am in the senior years of life but it is needed as much as ever now. These books are of great interest to me, not only personally, but as a teaching tool, as I lead studies for women in my church. I must check into them! Ginny, by the way, I am working on my Home Management book! Thanks!!
Jessica says
These books sound absolutely wonderful! I constantly struggle with organization…or what I believe to be ‘better’ organization and having the time I’d love for my girls and God. I will be adding these to my must read list!! Thank you for sharing!

I work a full time job in NYC and live in PA. I commute 5-6 hours every weekday. I also own another business with my husband that I work at night and on the weekends. I have 2 young children – one with autism and a husband with severe health issues from an Army injury. I am grateful for any opportunity to improve the way that I am organizing my life. Thank you and God Bless.
Ann says
Some days I feel on top of everything and then a few days later it all feels out of control. I would like to find the balance I need to be the wife, mom and daughter that my family needs. As I begin my new spiritual journey in 2013 and find my way back to God, these books will be great resources in getting my life organized and back on track while learning to delegate and not take it all on by myself.
Suzanne says
Pick me, Pick me, if there is ever a person that needs to “let go” of control and give it all (kids, Husband, work and health) to GOD, it’s me… Would love to read and apply both of these books in my life

Thanks so much for posting this. We all need to be a little more organized, in my case ALOT more organized!! But remembering to let GOD help us with this task is something I don’t think I realized. Oh My!!! This book sounds incredible, and I feel like it might just have been written for me. I can’t tell you the number of times my husband has, jokingly, called me a control freak. The sad thing is – he is totally right – I am one! I long to be the wife and mother that God has called me to be, and would love to read this book and apply the practices and advice to my life. It would make for a much happier household, and a much happier me! Thanks for the book review and the giveaway – fingers crossed!!
Jillian Fetters says
I have never been in the place that I am right now in my life. It’s such a bad place, that I declined my husband’s invitation to go to church (which is a rare invite). Between money, health (both physical and mental) and relationship I am overwhelmed and cannot see a hint of light at the end of the tunnel. I feel that we work so hard just to get even more bad news. We have great support, but I’m tired of depending on others. I want to have God in all aspects of my life, but if I’m not working, I’m taking care of our family and house or dealing with bills. I’d love to know how to have every important thing in my life at one time.

Hi Ginny, I found your sight about a month ago while researching organizing tips. I was SO EXCITED to find a Christian perspective on organizing and love the advice you offer. I have the desire to be organized but I need help on coming up with the ideas! I know that God is not a God of chaos, but a God of order. I find that when I am organized I can focus on what really matters in life! I am a wife and mother of three beautiful girls and also babysit from home. We have a small modest home and I have to stay organized or I would lose my mind! lol My husband works at a mission for homeless men, women, and children where I also worked before staying home with my children. Because our budget and space is limited I am always looking for creative ideas on how to decorate and organize. THESE BOOKS SOUND AWESOME and I think they are exactly what I have been looking for! Thanks for the chance to win them! Thanks also for your site. Keep up the good work!

I feel these books would be very helpful to me in so many ways. I am a single mother of 2 and currently work full time as well as go to school full time. I find that I don’t have a lot of time to think of ways to be organized. I know that being organized would help take away some of the stress that I have too. I feel that stress being taken away would be a real blessing at home for me and my kids!!!

I would love to win these. I am struggling with being organized and with ‘letting go’…I recently returned to work, and it’s taking some adjustment to switch from being a stay at home mom to a full time working mom. I need to get our lives organized and in control so I don’t feel all out of sorts all the time!
Jill Hall says
I love your blog! I wish I could get organized and manage it all, however I struggle with this every day. I teach middle school and I have 4 beautiful daughters, I love my family and I love my job, but how do I manage a home, daughters, middle schoolers, and my life? You seem to have the answer. I am anxious to keep up with your ideas!

I would love to have these books. Over the last year, due to illness and personal issues, I’ve let everything go… my home, myself, my family, and my relationship with God. After making it through such a tough year I need to get things back on track. I struggle with the SuperMom issues and it gets to a point where I feel like I can’t do things perfectly so I jus give up. These books seem like a great step to help me move my life back in the right direction both personally and spiritually.

Oh I would so love to read both these books. I have got into a real muddle in our home which is a bit too small for my husband and I and two grown up kids. Not to mention the pile of stuff I brought from my Mum’s house when she passed away last year, my brother just wanted to throw everything into the bin and there were things I needed to hang on to. Now my house is cluttered and I don’t know how to start and get it organised. I am sure these books would help!
Laura says
I had a life changing event occur back in February and to this day and possible for the rest of my life will struggel with the fallout. To say that it brought me back to God would be an understatement. That was the positive. The negative: Doubt- In myself, as a parent, in my husband, in my daughter. Trust- In the judicial system, my family. Paranoia – Who is coming up to my house and what do they want? Fear – of what’s to come. I’m not the victum, I’m not the suspect but I am the one left cleaning up the mess. I ask my self daily what if…? My phone rings and my pulse starts racing. I talk to law enforcement and I can’t sleep for three days. How do you Let Go? When life is spinning out of control you grasp for any little thing that shows you have some power over something. How do you keep from letting the control freak take over those aspects of your life as well as let go of those things you really had no control of in the first place? How do you give it all over to GOD and stop dwelling on it? I think my one struggle right now can be summed up by Mark 9:24 “I do believe, help me overcome my unbelief!”

I need these two books! I have always thought I was good at keeping my life organized! I am one of those people who sets goals for myself and I always have a PLAN of how I want things done, (drives my husband and son crazy!) & if it does not go the way I planned, It frustrates me and stresses me out. Sometimes I really feel like I forget to focus on what is most important, Jesus! I get so caught up in my “perfections” as you may call it, that I forget to let God control the situations and focus on His plan and not mine! I would like these books because I think it would be very useful to me and help me get my life organized and focused on God! 🙂

I would love these books. I am in major need of help. My husband and our now 6 month old son just moved into our first house. A few weeks before moving I was put in the hospital with a muscular infection. Needless to say this made me useless for packing which led to others packing our stuff and random things thrown together. Fast forward two months, the house is still a wreck and my husband is just now starting a semi regular schedule from all the damage from sandy. I am truly realizing it will not happen overnight but any help, support, or tips will help.
Amy S says

Julie B says
I think winning Karen’s books would be great. I am in dire need of advice and guidance on how to allow more time for God to get a Word in edgewise and a manageable plan that we can all live with for keeping the house in shape.
